About the artist:
Hi my name is Vanessa
My journey began in a small country town in central west of NSW.
Then making the tree change to a sea change in 2004 to the Gold Coast, Living on Yugambeh country.
I love teaching art to children to develop their creative learning journey, sharing my cultural background with them along the way. Bridging the gap one small step at a time.
Having over 20 years experience as an Early Childhood Educator, I’ve recently branched out starting my own business called "Indigenous art program for kids" allowing me to extend on sharing my Indigenous culture at an Early Learning level of learning.
During my spare time I spend my time getting creative with my art and sharing my art with others.
Inspiration behind the art :-
Echidna to Indigenous people are creators of water ways and land forms. The Waridjuri word for echidna is :- Wandayali The background depicts the Australian bushland with the eucalyptus trees providing a lush canopy for the echidna's on a local campground, which is symbolised with the connected circles.
The two echidnas represent the ability to find ants in the bush with it long pointy nose and long sticky tongue to get into those hard places that provides a source of nourishment and the blue sky represents healing
About our prints options
